Thank you Mountain Park and Arcado Elementary, along with Trickum Middle and Parkview High for all the letters that you wrote to our troops!
We wrote a total of 1735 letter to the troops overseas. The reason we do this each year is that many of our men and women in the military are away from their family and feel alone, especially around the holidays. This may be the only piece of mail they receive while they're stationed overseas.
It's important to make sure that every single individual currently serving in our armed forces received a letter at Thanksgiving and the Parkview Cluster along with the Bert Show achieved this goal.
So a BIG THANK YOU for helping write over 405,00 letters to our troops We should be proud of our community. Put this on your calendar to start writing the troops again next year starting October 1.
Here is a letter from a soldier:
Students,I just wanted to say that we received 300 of your letters to hand out to the troops. We got the letters in the mail the day before Thanksgiving and myself and 2 other soldiers decided to give them to the soldiers when they went to the chow hall to get their Thanksgiving meal.
You all brought a lot of smiles to the faces of many troops. We thank you and your listeners for thinking of us. Attached are some photos from thanksgiving when we gave out the letters. Take care and have a wonderful day.
