The Lilburn Farmer's Market will have its second annual "Dog Days of Summer" event on Friday, August 3.
The public may bring their favorite pooch to the evening's festivities, where they will be able to get special goodie bags for their dogs and pictures taken. Festivities begin at 4 p.m. across the street from City Hall in the parking lot of the Greenway Trail.
Organizers of the event said last year was wildly popular, so they wanted to try it out again. Vendors and other activities will center around dogs, such as available frozen treats for the hot weather, a hot dog vendor that names its fare after dog breeds and information on doggie daycare.
Ahimsa House provides emergency care for animals whose owners are victims of domestic abuse. Gwinnett Humane Society provides adoption and fostering services for animals in the county.
In addition to the two pet-centered nonprofits, Clicks and Sticks Knitting Guild is the guest vendor of the evening and it will be able to use Lilburn Farmer's Market as a fundraiser that evening.
Music will be provided by Clark Brown, a guitarist and mandolin player for more than 30 years.
In addition, the market is part of a contest to name America's favorite farmers' market. The public can vote for them by clicking here.
