Updated: Child Critical After Serious Crash

Accident happened near Five Forks-Trickum and Brown roads.

A serious three-car traffic accident at Five Forks-Trickum and Brown roads sent three children and two adults to the hospital Friday afternoon after 3 p.m., according to Gwinnett Police.

One of the children β€” a 14-year-old girl β€” was critically injured, but police said she was expected to fully recover, the Gwinnett Daily Post reported Saturday.

On Friday, Gwinnett Police spokesman Edwin Ritter said two adults and two other children had non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident site is located in unincorporated Lilburn on Five Forks-Trickum near the old Bruster's Ice Cream location.

Police on the scene said a Ford Explorer was traveling south on Five Fork-Trickum when a Toyota Prius pulled out into the lane from Brown Road. The Explorer struck the front end of the Prius, causing the Explorer to roll and then strike a Saturn SUV along the driver's side.

"It was a pretty bad wreck," one officer said.

Ritter had no details on ages of the injured or which vehicles they were in.

However, a Lilburn Patch reader reported via email that two girls in the Prius, who live in the neighborhood off Brown Road, were injured, but were going to be OK.
