The Lilburn sky will be lit with fireworks on Nov. 13 for the traditional celebration of Diwali, the Festival of Lights, in front of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir at 460 Rockbridge Road (at the intersection with Lawrenceville Highway).
Countless lamps will be lit on this occasion, and at 7 p.m. the Maha Arti (a prayer for inner peace, prosperity and happiness) will be held where all can participate in unison.
The Maha Arti will be followed by a festive display of music, lights and fireworks.
The day following Diwali marks the beginning of the auspicious Hindu New Year. It is celebrated festively with annakut - a ceremonial and devotional offering of hundreds of vegetarian food items. Click here for more information
