Macon police are searching a Twiggs County landfill for the remains of Lauren Giddings, 11Alive reported, citing Associated Press.

Stephen Mark McDaniel, 25, a Parkview High School graduate, was charged with Giddings' murder and dismemberment. McDaniel lived next door to Giddings in a Macon apartment building.

Giddings was reported missing on June 25, and five days later, police found her torso wrapped in plastic in a garbage bin next to the apartment building.

FBI agents and police officers have volunteered to help with the latest search, the report said.
