Who Won the Powerball Jackpot?
Two winning tickets sold for the record-breaking jackpot, estimated at $588 million. Georgia ticket buyers come up short.
Unfortunately for Georgia lottery players, the winning ticket for Wednesday's record-breaking $588 million Powerball jackpot was not bought here in the state.
According to Georgia lottery officials, two winning tickers were purchased in Arizona (a state that sells more Powerball tickets than most because nearby states like California do not have the game) and Missouri.
Who the winners are exactly? We probably won't now for some time.
The winning numbers were: 5, 16, 22, 23, 29, and the Powerball number of 6
Georgia did have some winners from the drawing, however, according to the Georgia Lottery website. Top winning tickets were:
- 1 Georgia ticket won $1 million
- 33 tickets won $10,000
- 1,719 tickets won $100
The Powerball jackpot for the next drawing this Saturday, Dec. 1, starts over now at an estimated $40 million.
So, even if you didn't make history with Wednesday's drawing, $40 million still isn't too shabby.
