Endless Summer Surf Music and Family Fun Festival
September 22, 2012
3:00 – 8:00 PM Music, Food and Activities
8:00 PM Movie Under the Stars - the campy classic Beach Blanket Bingo
On September 22, 2012, the City of Lilburn in conjunction with Jumping Panda (www.JumpingPanda.com) and FunFlicks (www.FunFlicks.com) will be hosting a music, food, and fun festival in Lilburn City Park. Admission is free for everyone, but there are small charges for optional food and beverages from Spiced Right BBQ, Joe's to Goes, and Sugar D's Sweets. Our beer vendor is bringing Miller Light and Terrapin Golden Ale. No festival is complete without snow cones, popcorn, and cotton candy too!
The music starts at 3:00 PM with five surf instrumental bands going strong all day in the bandshell – The Surge!, Stratogeezer, The Mystery Men?, Moonbase, and The Intoxicators. Bring chairs or a blanket to relax on the field and pretend you are beachside as concert-goers toss beach balls and play lawn games.
The kids will have a blast in our awesome Jumping Panda Inflatables section with an obstacle course, tall slide, velcro wall, and bounce house. Home Depot will be on hand with a wood craft, plus we'll have face painting and water tattoos. All inflatables and kids’ activities are FREE.
Throughout the day there will be free, family-friendly activities on the lawn. How long can you keep a hula hoop up? Are you the best Frisbee tosser in town? Will you be lucky enough to win a famous homemade cake from one of Lilburn’s amazing bakers in the Cake Walk? Check the schedule of events in the activity tent at the park to sign up for any of the contests that interest you and your family.
As the sun goes down, the big screen goes up as FunFlicks inflates their 26’ screen for a Movie on the Green at 8:00 PM. Your votes were tallied, and the winning movie was the campy classic Beach Blanket Bingo starring Frankie Avalon, Linda Evans, and Annette Funicello. Take a nostalgic trip back to the carefree days of 1965!

More About Lilburn City Park
The Lilburn City Park, located behind the Calvin Fitchett Municipal Complex, is a popular gathering place in Old Town.
The 10-acre park is at the heart of Lilburn activities, hosting city-sponsored events throughout the year. It's also where you'll find joggers, walkers, kids on playground equipment, tennis players, church picnickers, frisbee throwers and kite flyers. The park was recently renovated with a new track, upgraded playground equipment and decorative lighting and benches. The walking/jogging track, which has graveled and rubberized portions, is nearly a half-mile around its largest loop.
The tennis courts are open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. Two courts may be reserved for ALTA and USTA play.
A large pavilion, built in 2004, is available for group rentals, with rates beginning at $60 for two hours for city residents and $85 for non-residents. For more information on pavilion rental visit the web site. There is also a large, open field, where outdoor events are frequently held, which offers plenty of room for a game of catch or to sit in the sun and enjoy a book. A covered bandstand with a raised stage adjoins the field.
