“It Isn’t Love” Family Awareness Abuse Seminar

According to Georgia’s Commission on Family Violence, it was reported in 2012 that over 68,000 calls were made to Georgia’s certified domestic violence agencies in 2011. From these reports, over 9500 victims were offered refuge in Georgia’s family violence shelters. The hard true facts are that family violence is steadily increasing every year in Georgia. Because of these staggering statistics, Mountain Park UMC is offering a seminar focusing on family abuse.

This seminar will feature the author of "90 Minutes in Heaven" Cec Murphy and other renowned speakers and will concentrate on discussions relating to intervention and prevention of domestic violence cases. Information will be discussed that relate to spousal, child, and elder abuse whether it is physical or mental.  Speakers will discuss ways of recognizing the symptoms of family abuse as well as what intervention strategies are available for those currently suffering abuse.   A panel consisting of a  elebrated author as well as experts on domestic  violence will lead discussions and answer all your questions.  A packet of information will be available for those attending.   All attendees can remain anonymous and any information that is distributed will be given with no obligation.
