Read Across America Day Celebration

In honor of the National Education Association’s Read Across America Day, more than 150 children at the Primrose School of Five Forks celebrated literacy with more than 45 million readers nationwide. The preschoolers, ranging in age from 1 to 5 years old, wore handmade Dr. Seuss costumes, made "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" snacks and participated in
various other Seuss-type festivities.  Additionally, the children will wrap up their month-long book drive to make a donation valued at over $1,500 to the local Reach Out and Read chapter, a non-profit committed to promoting literacy through pediatric primary care.

Read Across America Day is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on or around Dr. Seuss’ birthday.
