Guaranteed to tell you something you didn't know yesterday.

Welcome to Monday and a new work week. Here are some things to know as you head into your day.

The weather: Not much sunshine today. It'll be cloudy, with a 20 percent chance of rain after 1 p.m., according to the Natiional Weather Service. The low tonight will be around 53 degrees, and the chance of rain is 60 percent.

Gas prices: The average for a gallon of regular in Georgia is $3.191, according to AAA. Prices reported to www.georgiagasprices.com for the past 24 hours ranged from $3.14 (at Shell, 5474 Lawrenceville Hwy at Rockbridge Road) to $3.19 ( at Shell, 5414 Five Forks Trickum Road at Rockbridge).

Twilight zone. On this day in 1945, five Navy warplanes on a training flight from Florida disappeared without a trace in the Atlantic despite clear weather and calm seas, after some odd-sounding radio traffic. A Marine search plane that went after them vanished as well. No traces of the planes that made up Flight 19 or their crew were ever found. Thus was born one of the most enduring stories of the Bermuda Triangle. Weird happenings, or just swamp gas? What do you think?

Shot in the arm: It's National Influenza Vaccination Week as declared by Atlanta's own national medical landmark, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. The CDC is holding a conference call at noon today for anybody who cares to lsten in, where they'll talk about how many people get flu shots and how many don't. The CDC recommends an annual flu vaccination for everyone six months of age and older "as the first and most important step in protecting against flu viruses."

Credit where credit's due: To its credit, the Gwinnett Public library is holding free seminars this week on how to make your credit history and credit rating work for you. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, at four branches including Snellville and Norcross. Called "Making Credit Work for You," it's co-sponsored by RBC Bank USA.
