Whole lot of shaking: Last week was the big Virginia quake some of us felt, magnitude 5.8. But on this day in 1886, the biggest recorded earthquake in the Southeast hit Charleston, S.C., killing 100 people. http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/earthquake-shakes-charleston-south-carolina. Also today in history: Princess Diana died in a car crash in Paris in 1997.
