The weather: Frost before 9 a.m., but sunny with a high of about 68 degrees, the National Weather Service says. The low tonight will be around 42.

Gas prices are still holding steady. The average for a gallon of regular in Georgia is $3.361, and nationally it's $3.437. Prices reported to www.georgiagasprices.com for Lilburn in the past 24 hours ranged from $3.25 (at Kroger, 3050 Five Forks Trickum near Oak Rd) to $3.39 at Texaco (4785 Lawrenceville Hwy at Indian Trail -Lilburn Road).

A walk in the park: Want to know if the park's in shape for a visit? Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation keeps an updated list of trail and park conditions
at its handy website. Right now, for example, the skate area at Ronald Reagan Park is closed for renovation and the playground and pavillion at Graves Park are closed, too.

Roots of MLK Day: This is the day that President Reagan created the federal holiday honoring the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Reagan signed the bill in the Rose Garden on Nov. 2, 1983. That was 15 years after Dr. King was assassinated, just before he planned to lead an interracial Poor People's Campaign to Washington D.C. to push for economic justice and housing.
