The weather: We're probably in for some more rain this morning, and the high today will be a crisp and probably breezy 56 degrees. The low tonight: 41, according to the National Weather Service.

Gas prices: The average price for a gallon of regular is $3.386 in Georgia, according to AAA, and it's $3.469 in the U.S. Prices reported to www.georgiagasprices.com for the past 24 hours ranged from $3.35 (at Marathon, 119 Harmony Grove Road near Lost Grove Drive) to $3.43 (at 775 Beaver Ruin Road and Burns Road). That's a 10 cent jump in the lowest price reported for Lilburn from yesterday.

Sleepy Hollow for kids. That's what's playing today at the Aurora Theatre in Lawrenceville, just right for grades K to 2, in a a free showing for Home School Day if you bring some non-perishable food items to donate. Performances at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Surrender: Britain's Gen. Cornwallis surrendered to combined American and French forces at Yorktown, Va., on this day in 1871. It's generally remembered as the decisive final land battle of the Revolutionary War. But it also had a Georgia connection: Gen. Washington's victory freed up some of the Continental Army to head south to face British forces that still controlled Savannah.
