Welcome to Wednesday. Here are some things to know as you head into this hump day.

The weather: Sun is in the forecast again, with a high of 77 degrees, the National Weather Service says. The low tonight will be about 53 degrees.

Gas prices are still inching lower. The national average for a gallon of regular is $3.446, about two cents less than a week ago, and it's $3.398 in Georgia, according to AAA. Prices reported to www.georgiagasprices.com for Lilburn in the past 24 hours ranged from $3.32 (at Shell, 3020 Five Forks Trickum at Oak Road) to $3.39 (at Shell, 915 Indian Trail- Lilburn Road at Dickens Road).

How much? On this day in 1949, the federal minimum wage was raised to 75 cents an hour from 40 cents by President Harry Truman. It's up a little today, to $7.25 an hour. The national minimum wage started in 1933 at 25 cents an hour.

Drop that. It's International Disarmament Week, established by the United Nations in the depths of the Cold War in 1978. The nuclear standoff stockpiles of the U.S. and the late Soviet Union have come down a lot in size since then. This week we dismantled the last of our most humongous bombs.
