Gas prices are five cents lower on average nationwide - at $3.505 - than they were on Friday, according to AAA. In Georgia, the average is $3.352 for a gallon of regular. In Lilburn, prices reported to www.georgiagasprices.com ranged from $3.22 (at Citgo, 331 Rockbridge Road at Lawrenceville Highway) and $3.39 (at Chevron, 4784 Highway 29 at Killian Hill Road).

Today in history: The first televised debate between presidential hopefuls was on this day in 1960, with John F. Kennedy and Richard M. Nixon duking it out from a studio in Chicago. Kennedy was widely acknowledged as the winner, and of course won the election in November of that year.
