Grab & Go Kids Planner: Great Family Events for a Great Weekend

Focus is on Spring Break.

Well moms, there is absolutely nothing going on this weekend. Sorry, I just couldn't find anything! Oh, I'm kidding of course.  There are tons of fun things going this weekend for every interest and budget level. I have both indoor and outdoor activities listed so don't worry about what the weather will be this weekend.  Just grab this planner and your kids and get out there to have some fun this weekend!

Spring Breakin’

What: Stone Mountain "Spring FUN Break"

Where: Stone Mountain Park, 1000 Robert E. Lee Drive, Stone Mountain, GA 30083. Attraction areas include: Cross Roads, The Plantation, Dogwood Venue, Memorial Lawn and more.

Why Go: Stone Mountain is offering tons of great family activities for the week of Spring Break. Story time, crafts, Veggie-Tales movies, live entertainment, Sky Hike, "Journey to the Center of the Earth 4-D" movie,  laser show, train ride, putt-putt, live entertainment and more. There are some new events going on this year, too. Farm animals will be strutting their stuff and showing off their tricks in the Plantation Venue. At the Dogwood Venue, there will be live baby animals on display for children to hold and cuddle. Pricing: Daily Parking Fee ($10) or Annual Parking Pass required ($35). Individual event fees apply, $9 and up. Or, to attend all the special events for Free, purchase either a daily Family Value Pass ($119-$149 for a family of 4) or an annual Mountain Membership Pass ($192 for a family of 4).  Also, "Family Escape Packages" ($179-$199), which include 2-day Spring Fun Break Passes, hotel stay, and breakfast are also available.

Mom Tip: Get a $5 coupon at Kroger good towards the Mountain Membership Pass. Also, buy your passes online for additional savings.

Make an Easter Craft

What: Michael's "Make-it-and-take-it" Event in Snellville

Michael's "Make-it-and-take-it" Event in Tucker 

When: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., Saturday, April 2

Why Go: If you've got crafty kids on your hands then this will be a great way to spend your Saturday morning with them. Kids will turn a 7-inch craft egg into a beautiful, whimsical, or silly Easter egg. Decorations will be provided. Great for pre-school and elementary children.

Pricing: $5 per egg while supplies last.

Fish Fry

What:  Fish Fry Fridays during Lent

When: 5 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., Fridays through April 15

Why Go: Enjoy neighborly fellowship, spiritual fellowship, and Southern-style home-cooking all in one place! The "Lenten Friday Fish Frys" includes fried catfish, hush puppies, macaroni and cheese, potato casserole and more. You will not leave hungry, guaranteed!

Pricing: Adults: $8, Kids (6-12): $5, kids 5 and under are free.

Hear Blue Grass Music

What: Peach Blossom Bluegrass Festival Fundraiser

When: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 2 (Music from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.)

Where: Clarkston Community Center, 3701 College Ave, Clarkston, GA 30021

Why Go:  Do some good for your community and enjoy a little music, food, and fun while you're at it. This annual Bluegrass Festival helps support WRFG, a local, non-profit radio station known for playing local and international music of all kinds. This event will feature local Bluegrass bands such as "Tucker Station String Band," "The Mosier Brothers," and more. Food and craft vendors will be available. Full list of performers online. Pricing: Adults are $12 in advance tickets or $15 at door. WRFG member are $12 . Students and seniors are $6. Kids under 6 are free.  All proceeds go to WRFG 89.3 FM.

Movie at The Gym

What: Family Movie Night at Best Friend Park Gym

Where: Gymnasium at Best Friend Park, 6224 Jimmy Carter Boulevard, Norcross 30071. 770-417.2212

When: Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; movie begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 2.

Why Go: Bring a blanket or chair to watch "Toy Story 3" at this inside, family event. Yummy hot dogs, pizza, popcorn, drinks and more will be available for purchase at the concession stands. Please do not bring outside food. All ages are welcome at this event. Please call for additional information, and mention the code: BFGY14502

Pricing: $3 per person (residents of Gwinnett County), and $6 per person for non-residents. Kids under 3 are free. Pricing does not include food.
