Gwinnett Boy Scouts Remember 9/11

Viewfinder takes a look at Sunday's ceremony in Lawrenceville.

Gwinnett County Boy Scouts invited the public to attend their Scout Surge 9/11 event on Sunday.

Local heroes from the fire and police departments from Gwinnett County, Walton County and the City of Lawrenceville were honored, and American flags were presented during the special event. Congressman Rob Woodall was among those present at the ceremony at the Gwinnett County Justice and Administrative Center.

Here is a look at the event through a series of photographs.

It was a great ceremony. Glad the Patch was there to capture it.

Great job boys! The scouts are a great group for kids to get involved in, my girls and I enjoyed it for several years. Here is something some scouts may be able to do for some community hours: Long Beach Island, NJ is lloking for scouts to camp out Oct. 14 on the beach, and then plant due grass on Oct. 15 from 12-2, then join in a free BBQ with everyone at Lorrys Motel, in Holgate. go to Lorrysmotel.com to fill in registration, join in the fun, mention you are a troop to get more info asap. We need HELP! Our homes are on the brink of the ocean in some areas! Keep up the good boys boys!
