Have You Seen This Dog?

Jeff, a black Cocker-doodle, went missing Nov. 25.

Jefferson Reiley, who answers to Jeff, is a 12-year-old black Cocker-doodle who went missing Nov. 25 around 11 a.m., said owner Sherri McCoy.

Jeff is black with a bit of white on his chest.

McCoy said he is neutered. He is not wearing a collar because he had been bathed prior to going missing. He is partially blind and may be losing his hearing, McCoy said.

He went missing near the intersection of Candler Road and Glenwood Road in the White Oak Hills community of Decatur.

He was last seen playing on Eastwood Drive between Ellington Street and Old Hickory Street around 12 p.m.; a neighbor told McCoy that she saw the dog being played with by a young couple driving a white Ford car on the day he went missing. The neighbor said she went in the house but when she came out a few minutes later the car and Jeff were gone, McCoy said.

The neighbor told McCoy she also noticed other dogs barking from the back seat of the car. McCoy said after talking with other people with missing dogs in the area, she thought "pet nappers," might be involved, she said.

If this is the case, McCoy said she's been told that Jeff may have been groomed to give him this type of poodle cut to make him more desirable before selling.
