House Hunt: Great Schools, Great Deals

Lilburn has a number of excellent schools that draw young families to our community.  It's a point of pride, and makes home buying and selling a little easier here than it is in other areas of Atlanta.  Still, foreclosures, short sales and homes below-market-value abound.  

Today, we take a look at some homes that are below market value in some great locations. (Some homes are unincorporated Lilburn.)

4243 Deerbrook Way
This two-story home is in the Deerbrook subdivision near the Killian Hill/Five Forks intersection.  It is in the Head Elementary, Five Forks Middle, and Brookwood High district.  It's a John Wieland home, with 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths.  The interior could use some cosmetic updating, but otherwise it seems to be in good shape.  At a price of $119,900, it's a steal.  A comparable home in the same neighborhood is for sale for $169,900.  

1238 Rivermist Dr.
Another home in the same school district is for sale for $125,000.  The home is in the Rivermist subdivision and is a short sale.  Four bedrooms, 2.5 baths, this home has a fantastic backyard and is move-in ready.   This home may be gone by the time you read this; home values in the same neighborhood range between $299,900-$125K (this one).  The average cost seems to be right around $200K.  Flip it or keep it; either way, it's a good buy.  School district is Head Elementary, Five Forks Middle and Brookwood High.  

1356 Lake Lucerne Rd.
This home is just a little over $100K, and is stunning.  With two stories, a large family room and formal sitting room, and a fenced-in back yard, this would be a perfect home for a growing family. Camp Creek Elementary, Trickum Middle and Parkview High district.  Landscaping and color scheme is modern and appealing.
