In Pictures: 2013 Lilburn Relay Rally

In the ninth annual Lilburn Relay Rally, participants raised more than $22,000.

In this ninth year of the Lilburn Relay Rally, family and friends came together once again to remember lives lost to cancer and to honor survivors.

Within two hours of the event Friday, 100 luminaries were purchased and lining the walk route. Each luminary bears the name of person for whom teams champion.

And, according to the Lilburn Relay Rally website, more than 20,000 was raised. The Lilburn Woman's Club raised the most of any of teams -- more than $7,000.

The hope is that the funds and awareness march straight to a cure.

The event was founded in 2005 by the city of Lilburn and the Lilburn Woman’s Club.
