Lilburn-Area Teams Meeting Gwinnett Relay for Life Goals

Many teams are sprinting toward the fund-raising finish line for Gwinnett Relay for Life, which takes place May 10 and 11 at the county fairgrounds. 

The $1 million mark isn't far off, with 262 teams and 5,989 individuals raising approximately $970,928, as of 1:30 p.m. on May 3.

Here's a look at how Lilburn teams -- or nearby teams -- are doing:

Smoke Rise Baptist Church -- 22 team members, $13,644 (75 percent of $15,000 goal)

Dynamite Lilburnites -- $12,029 (More than 100 percent of $5,000 goal)

Berkmar High School -- 135 team members, $11,700 (83 percent of $14,000 goal)

Nesbit Elementary -- 54 team members, $4,585 (45 percent of $10,000 goal)

R.D. Head Elementary -- 27 team member, $3,988 (66 percent of $6,000 goal)

Five Forks Middle School -- 8 teams, $2,950 (59 percent of $5,000 goal)

Bethesda United Methodist Church -- 9 team members, $2,561 (More than 100 percent of $1,500 goal)
