Lilburn Community Raises $23K for Fight Against Cancer

There were 173 total participants in the Lilburn Relay Rally, held April 26.

The city of Lilburn can be proud of itself.

The recently held Lilburn Relay Rally raised approximately $23,392 for the fight against cancer, according to a final tally provided by the city.

There were 10 teams and a total of 173 participants.

The Lilburn Woman's Club co-hosted the event with the city of Lilburn.

It is the ninth year that the city has held the event.

Former mayor Diana Preston led the survivor’s lap to kick off the event, and the evening ended with a final lap around the park, led by bagpipe player Janice Summers.

All monies raised at the Lilburn Relay Rally are forwarded to the Gwinnett County Relay for Life, which takes place May 9-10.
