Money Magazine Names Lilburn Among "Best Affordable" Places to Live

Money magazine lists Lilburn as No. 5.

Money magazine has named the city of Lilburn as one of the nation's top 25 most-affordable places to live.

Lilburn lands at No. 5. The median home price is listed at $84,478, and the median income is listed as $64,762.

The city "boasts a fine school system, safe streets and proximity to Atlanta," Money magazine said. "Throw in affordable housing -- a well maintained three-bedroom ranch can cost $125,000 -- and you have a formula for success."

Mayor Johnny Crist said he was happy to learn of the recent distinction, and appreciated the spotlight in Money magazine.

"We are delighted that Money magazine chose to recognize our beautiful city," he said in a press release. "The residents of Lilburn love our small town feel, top notch schools and parks, and convenience to Atlanta."
