Old Town Happenings: Book Signing, Open House Highlighted Weekend

A Weekly Look at What's Up Downtown

There was much to celebrate this Saturday in Old Town.

Antique lovers attended the Spring Open House at , which is an annual event. The shop closed for two days while dealers brought in their finest spring items, then reopened on Friday for the two-day event.

There is always coffee brewing in the lower level of Antiques In Old Town. Owners Rowann and Hugh have made the back corner of the shop a great place to grab some coffee, buy a soda and visit with friends. Saturday added fancy pastries and cookies to the café-like area.

The book crowd piled into for Terry Kay’s book signing of his newly released novel, “Bogmeadow’s Wish.”  Lilburn was home to Kay and his family for years and many of his old friends and church members came by to visit with him. The book signing was a sellout.  Forty percent of the book sales were donated to the Lilburn Woman’s Club Relay Rally team for The American Cancer Society.

Members of The Atlanta Writer’s Club http://www.atlantawritersclub.org/ , local book club members and authors Jackie Lee Miles  http://jlmiles.brinkster.net/ and Doug Dahlgren http://dougdahlgren.com/ were among those who came to talk to Kay.

Local photographer for the Lilburn Business Association, Richard Ferris, was on hand to take photographs of the event, which are posted here. Ferris will have an exhibit of his work at The Little Shop Of Arts And Antiques in June.
