Old Town Happenings: Main Street Active Despite Cool Rain

Joggers jogged, visitors shopped, took in an art opening and photographed historic buildings.

The weekend’s change in weather, bringing in cooler rain, did not deter folks from coming to Old Town.

Main Street was full of activity as joggers headed toward the park and visitors shopped, took in an art opening and photographed the historic buildings.

Friday, Lilburn Patch’s own Rebecca Robinson, Advertising Manager, stopped by to talk business and left wearing a brightly colored green dress. Rebecca told the shop owner the color green was perfect for “Patch” and may be her new business outfit.

Saturday, Author Terry Kay, a 2006 inductee of the Georgia Writer’s Hall of fame, and former Lilburn resident, stopped by to talk about his book signing scheduled for April 9.

“Bogmeadow’s Wish,” his new novel released this month, is a romance set in Ireland.  Books will be available for sale at the shop.

Laura Martinez, a young Norcross artist, began her two-week art exhibit at the shop. She and Terry talked about her paintings, which are colorful images of her spiritual journey. Many of her friends and church members came by to view her work. Laura’s paintings will be at the shop through March 12.

Hobbyist photographer, Greg Williams, a Lilburn resident, and his two children, took photos of the historic buildings in Old Town. Greg is often seen on the streets, camera and tripod in hand, working on his project “365: Picture a day.”

Check out more of his photos later this week in Lilburn Patch's Vierwfinder feature, and guess which Old Town buildings he photographed.
