Restaurant Grades: Know Then Go

A look at restaurant inspections conducted by the health department in Greater Lilburn.

Below are this week's results of recent Gwinnett County restaurant inspections in Greater Lilburn by the East Metro Health District, which covers Gwinnett, Rockdale and Newton counties. Each report includes a synopsis of some of the deficiencies found by the inspector.

Violations cited: Food and nonfood-contact surfaces cleanable, properly designed, constructed, and used.

Subway Sandwich Shop, 4051 Highway 78 Suite #107 

Score: 96/A on March 28

Inspection Type: follow-up

Previous scores: 72/C March 19, 87/B October 21, 2011

Violations cited: Foods were stored underneath leaking refrigeration unit: Pepperoni, salami, lettuce, yogurt, bacon, etc. The refrigeration unit in the walk-in cooler was leaking. NOTE: Owner states that the drain pan for the unit was already replaced last fall. But, the drain pan was not properly sized.
