Viewfinder: Easter Sunday on Stone Mountain

Hundreds were greeted by a perfect sunrise for services.

It was the perfect morning to celebrate Easter on top of Stone Mountain, and hundreds of people from all around made the journey up the big rock, either on foot or by cable car.

About 100 or more didn't make it in time and were still waiting for the Sky Lift in a line that stretched hundreds of feet when park employees told them they wouldn't make it up before the end of the service. The news didn't stop most of them from trying.

Others worshipped at the Memorial Lawn service. Whether atop the mountain or in its shadow, it was a morning of renewal to remember.
