Viewfinder: Red Cross Holds Blood Drive at City Hall

Donors included 91-year-old first-timer.

Geraldine Huls didn't mean to wait until she was 91 years old to give blood.

"It never came up before," the Lilburn resident said Wednesday afternoon during the American Red Cross' blood drive at City Hall.

Huls accompanied her daughter, C.A. Folds, also of Lilburn, who has rare O negative blood type and gives blood frequently. It was the daughter that prompted mother to come along Wednesday.

"She's very convincing. Very persuasive," Huls said. "She always tries to involve me with everything she's doing."

Dozens of donors signed up to give blood Wednesday. The Red Cross set up in the City Hall Auditorium from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
