Emerging Choreographer's Showcase

Join us for an evening filled with new and exciting works in classical ballet, contemporary, and modern dance styles. This performance has been a developmental and training exercise for our dancers. Students were challenged with this project in June and have been working diligently to select music, cast dancers, and choreograph for their peers. Dancers also have had to engage in basic costume and lighting design to showcase their dancers.  "This has been an amazing growth opportunity for our dancers", states Jennifer Gordon, Artistic Director. "It is very important that dancers know the full realm of what is involved in producing dance."

In addition to works by our aspiring dancers, the Northeast Atlanta Ballet is proud to include works by Carla Amancio, Josh Kurtzberg, Allison Geary, and Kristy Nilsson. These award winning choreographers had the opportunity to work with our dancers over the summer. Ms. Amancio's classical piece features 12 dancers. "I cannot believe how well trained these dancers are. I was completely surprised when I arrived at the studio and can't wait for an opportunity to work with these dancers again" states Ms. Amancio of Central Florida.

The Northeast Atlanta Ballet, based in Lilburn Georgia, has been serving the Gwinnett community for 16 years. Our mission is to provide quality arts programming at affordable pricing and to provide superior training and performing opportunities for aspiring dancers. The Northeast Atlanta Ballet has a full season including our September Emerging Choreographers Showcase, The Nutcracker with live orchestra at Gwinnett Center over Thanksgiving weekend, Swan Lake at Gwinnett Center in March, and Aladdin at Gwinnett Center in May!
