Tie-Dye T-Shirts

When/Where: Thursday, July 28, 6 p.m., , 1210 Pounds Road, Lilburn. 

Why Go: Start the weekend off with some colorful designs at the library: Just bring a clean T-shirt and they'll show you how to make a tie-dye creation out of it.

When/Where: Friday, July 29, 4 p.m. for the market and 7 p.m. for the show, Lilburn Park, 76 Main Street, Lilburn. 

Why Go: Ready for the next Lilburn Idol? After getting those veggies and produce from the farmer's market, head across the street to the park to watch the second round of singing. The highest scores from this performance and the July 8 show will head to next week's finale.

Tres Chic Mix & Mingle

When/Where: Saturday, July 30, 7 p.m., , 5514 Lawrenceville Highway, Lilburn. 

Why Go: Lilburn Cafe is having a networking event (with a dose of shopping) this Saturday for both men and women. Food and alcoholic drinks will be served, and there will be music and a DJ, all while guests can mingle and browse AVON products and jewelry by Joli Accent. 

Pricing: Free admission. 

Red Cross Blood Drive

When/Where: Friday, July 29, 2 p.m.-8 p.m., , 5036 Lavista Road, Tucker. 

Why Go: A blood drive is pretty self-explanatory, but givers at Tucker High will also be given a mini physical, too. Pulse, blood pressure, body temperature and hemoglobin will be checked out, so go for your health, not just someone else's.

When/Where: Saturday, July 30, 10 a.m., CrossFit ICONZ, 2073 Westside Court, Snellville. 

Why Go: Think yoga is only for women? Think again. CrossFit is having a course that will teach athletes how to gain flexibility and strength for any sport by combining yoga to their routines. The workshop concentrates on ancient bio-mechanic warrior techniques and movement efficiency to decrease pain, improve dexterity and heighten energy levels, among other benefits.

Dog Potty-Training Workshop

When/Where: Saturday, July 30, 10 a.m.-11 a.m., AARF Pet Central, 6570 James B. Rivers Drive, Stone Mountain. 

Why Go: A class at Stone Mountain's new dog and cat resource center will allow owners to teach their dogs through the use of positive, lasting training methods. AARF trainer Lennox Gavin will explain the whole process, and owners don't even need to bring their dogs to the class. 

Pricing: $25. Walk-ins are welcome. 

Printmaking and Ink Painting

When/Where: Saturday, July 30, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Stone Mountain-Sue Kellogg Library, 952 Leon Street, Stone Mountain. 

Why Go: Open to kids, too, the printmaking and ink painting class will have artists from the Georgia Museum of Art, who will teach participants simple tricks on how to create cards and gifts. 

Pricing: Free. Class size is limited to 36 participants, though, so visit the library or call 770-413-2020 to reserve a spot. 

Family Fun Day

When/Where: Saturday, July 30, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., The , 94 Main Street, Lilburn. 

Why Go: Have a fun day in Old Town with birds and art. Locals who stop by can get their faces painted, make tin can paper, and draw their own art. From noon to 1:30 p.m., a Flying Feathers performance will have bird owners showing off their exotic birds. 

Pricing: Free. 

Passionate Pole Dance Party

When/Where: Saturday, July 30, 6 p.m., Pure Passion, 4759 Rockbridge Road, Stone Mountain. 

Why Go: Pole dancing has blown up as a fun way to exercise for the past few years, so Pure Passion is having a party to teach the ins and outs of the craze. Attendees will do an exotic floor routine and then learn a few tricks on the pole, all while working the abs, glutes and back. Click here for information on what to wear and a list of dos and don'ts.
