Lilburn Resident's Personal Life Inspires 'No Soliciting' Film

Will Dove is the writer, and an actor, in the film "No Soliciting," which is running at Atlanta's Plaza Theater in January.

Following a standing-room-only, sold out premiere last week, "No Soliciting!" continues in an exclusive engagement Jan 18-24 at Atlanta’s historic Plaza Theater.

Will Dove, a Lilburn resident who directs and co-stars as the film's dimwitted party-boy “Harry Lutz,” drew on his personal experiences in door-to-door sales as inspiration for the script.

“Everyone hates you, even before you speak. And yet your livelihood hinges on selling them something that they probably don’t need or even want,” Dove recalls about his old job.

Filmed in an around the Atlanta area, the movie is the story of a 30-something office worker “Dan Wood” (played by Ryan Lewis) tries to get his life back together after losing his job and getting dumped by his cheating girlfriend.

Dan is forced to move back in with his mother, “Norma Wood” (played by Lilburn local, Bobbie Elzey). In what appears to be the final death of his dreams, Dan finds himself succumbing to a door-to-door sales job.

But, it's only then that he discovers new opportunities await behind every door he knocks on. Now, all he has to do is keep knocking.

Other co-stars include the movie's casting director, Grant McGowen (who owns Atlanta's Pinch n' Ouch Theatre) as head womanizer “Tommy Pendergrass,” new comers Rahmell Peebles as suave nerd “Gerald Fitzgerald” and Katie Graham as the lead's love interest, “Tara Brennan,” along with nearly 60 other local actors and actresses.

Dove said he's hoping to take the film into a wider showing.

“We’ve currently submitted to several national and international film festivals," Dove said in a press release. "You just never know. That's why you've got to keep knocking."
