March is Youth Art Month in Lilburn

"Spring Into Art" Show at City Hall scheduled March 20.

Did you know that March is ‘Youth Art Month’ here in Lilburn, and 11 elementary schools in the local area have been invited to submit student art from all grade levels in several mediums.

Budding young artists all over Lilburn should be busily working on their entries. The deadline for turning in a creation is March 17.

This competition is free and open to all elementary students from participating schools.

The youngsters are competing for cash prizes and ribbons, and the First Place, Best of Show entry will be judged, professionally framed and hung on display in Lilburn City Hall along with the artwork from previous years winners.  The First Prize winner will also get to have their picture taken with the Mayor along with the rest of their family.

It’s proven to be quite a moving event for the whole family of these children.  In spite of many of the young contestants having occasional difficulty expressing themselves verbally, they often find a beautiful way of communicating through their art.
