1. Super Saturday: Reading Rocks! at Mountain Park Library

Let your kids practice their reading at the local library this weekend. Open to ages 5 through 10, Mountain Park's Super Saturday will have art supplies at the ready so that children can make their own pocket-sized creatures so they have a reading buddy.

2. Sydney Cash and John David Gibbs at Three Blind Mice

As part of its Saturday music roundups, Three Blind Mice invites acoustic act GibbsCash to the restaurant for some jams. With girlfriend Sydney Cash taking the vocals and boyfriend J.D. Gibbs on the acoustic Takamine guitar, GibbsCash will play original songs similar to the sounds of John Mayer and the Beatles, and covers by artists such as Nora Jones and The Eagles. Hear them for free, either while sipping some Riesling or having a full entree.

3. Great American Motorcycle Show

Biker enthusiasts, come hither! Georgia's largest motorcycle show is back. As an indoor event spanning the space of several football fields, the show will have bikes of all kinds: foreign and domestic, customized, sport, choppers and more. Accessories to beautify your hog will be on display and for sale, ranging from items such as seat cushions, gloves, wheels, boots and garage gear. Even for those not interested in purchasing, guests can listen to live music, meet bike makers and engage in town of daily events. Check out the site for specific details and prices.  

4. Wesleyan vs. Providence basketball

Friday, Jan. 28, 7 p.m. $5. Providence Christian School, 4575 Lawrenceville Highway. www.providencechristianacademy.org

Two of Gwinnett County's Christian schools will go head-to-head this weekend in Lilburn. Playing on their home turf, the Providence Stars will be playing the Wesleyan Wolves as part of Providence's homecoming basketball game. The ladies start at 7 p.m. and the guys start at 8:30 p.m. 

5. UGA vs. LSU and Clemson in Hockey

Friday, Jan. 28, 9:30 p.m. for LSU, and Saturday, Jan. 29, 7 p.m. for Clemson. Duluth Ice Forum, 2300 Satellite Boulevard, Duluth. www.ugahockey.com

Football may be over for the state of Georgia, but hockey is still definitely in a strong vibe. Show some Ice Dog spirit by watching the University of Georgia play again Clemson University and Lousiana State University this Friday at the Duluth Ice Forum. It'll be icy, but at least you won't have to drive on it, right?
