Common sense

common sense; our lost intellect.

As a kid on the farm my grandfather advised me against putting my hand on a hot stove in order to avoid getting burned and to never walk behind a horse because it might be skittish and its kick could be fatal.

I read this week that the HIV virus and AIDS is resurging in Cobb County. It must be increasing elsewhere.

Applying my grandfather's wisdom AIDS could be stopped dead in its tracks, simply avoid the source of the HIV virus. It isn't complicated. It seems illogical to me that monogamy and abstinence isn't stressed earlier in schools and in homes before the effects of a liberal philosophy takes hold.

When the Liberals quit giving out Condom's to Grade School & Teenagers in school, because they want them to have safe sex, why not teach these schools kids, not to have sex, that was what taught in my Teen age years and there were no aids, Well we did have sex then to, but we have enough sense to protect the problem of the girls getting pregnant. All of this hand out of Condoms, birthcontrol pills to these schools kids is telling them it is O.K. to have sex, don't worry about it, go ahead and do it. What happen to the Morals of this country?

Now, now, we no longer use such judgemental words like "morals." We now talk about "lifestyle choices" and no one has the right to judge what choices other people make.

Susan, you are right and yet you must agree that no one has the right to attempt to sway me into accepting certain "lifestyle choices" I have avoided for eight decades. From what you blogged I assume you don't use words like "morals" but I do. That is not judgemental, it's simply preference. I like abstinense and monogamy. Bear have cubs then abstain for two years until the young are self sufficient. Bruin do not have venereal diseases or abortions. What's wrong with that picture?

Nothing. I was being facetious. I thought my "Now, now " lead in made that clear, but guess I should have put a little ;>) to let people know I was supporting you and mocking what is being taught in schools today.

I guess we are kindred spirits after all. Bill
