Jogger Hit by Car on Five Forks

The incident occurred Friday morning at the Cole Road intersection in Lilburn.

A jogger was hit by a vehicle Friday morning in Lilburn (Aug. 2).

The incident occurred at the intersection of Five Forks Trickum Road and Cole Road.

The jogger experienced non-life threatening injuries, according to Gwinnett County Police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith.

The driver stopped and called 911 to report the incident, Smith continued. Lilburn Patch drove by the intersection around 7:50 a.m. to see fire trucks and police cars, with officers directing traffic. Cars driving north on Five Forks could not pass Cole Road and instead were directed on it. The jogger could be seen lying on the ground in the northbound lane.

Authorities cleared the area shortly after, and traffic was cleared. Gwinnett County Schools are having their orientation Friday, so traffic is expected to get heavy throughout the day.
