Bites Nearby: Asian Buffet

Each week Patch stops by a local restaurant to find a great place to grab a bite. Check out this week's pick.

is a popular place for the Sunday after church-services crowd, but with an advantage: no obnoxiously long lines. It's also a decent place to go during the week when you don't have the foggiest idea what to cook for dinner -- especially if each family member has different preferences.

The restaurant has a salad bar, hibachi grill, seafood including salmon, mussels and crab legs (which cost extra), spring rolls, sushi, diced potatoes, pizza, beef with broccoli, lo mein, mussels, fried rice, fruit, sesame chicken, and several desserts - to name a few.

There are sweets, too -- cookies, coated nuts, etc. -- but I'm only a fan of the ice cream and cheese cake. That's just a matter of taste.

Another thing: I love salmon, but I'm not enamored with the liquid it sits in at Asian Buffet. The two things I faithfully return to time and again, however, are the sushi and the cheese rangoons.

The staff is friendly and accommodating. There's a large koi pond in the entrance area; kids will get a kick out of seeing the large fish swimming about. But you usually don't spend that much time at the front of the restaurant because you're seated pretty quickly.
