Business Spotlight: Bambinelli's Italian Restaurant

Each week we feature a business from our hometown of Lilburn. This week, learn more about Bambinelli's Italian Restaurant.

Joseph Bambinelli and his mother Bonnie opened the doors to Bambinelli's Italian Restaurant in Lilburn in August of 2005. Jean Engle, the restaurant's general manager, came out of school 12 years ago as a culinary manager. After deciding she wanted to someday own her own restaurant, Engle went back to school for a business degree. But after starting at Bambinelli's, Jean fell in love with the owners and has worked for them ever since. I recently sat down with Jean to talk about the restaurant.

Patch: What is the best aspect of managing Bambinelli's?

Jean: Bambinelli's has a family, friendly, fun atmosphere from the top down. Management believes in family and the customers who come in feel like they are a part of our family and we like to believe that we are a part of theirs.

Patch: What is the most challenging aspect of managing a restaurant?

Jean: I would definitely say getting our name out there is challenging. Even after seven years I have customers who come in weekly that say that they had no idea that we were here. The challenge is definitely getting ourselves out there to get the exposure that we want and need.

Patch: What makes Bambinelli's unique?

Jean: Our attention to detail from food to service. It's the little things that count that smaller restaurants don't always necessarily think about. For example we use a ten point system to ensure that your meal from start to finish is worth every penny. We make sure that we know what we're talking about when it comes to helping our customers make choices with their meal and that service continues all the way to when the check is delivered.

Patch: What makes the Lilburn community special?

Jean: Honestly it's a family environment. I live in Lilburn. I shop in Lilburn. So I feel like this is my community. The police, the city government, the county government, are all fantastic and it seems that everybody around makes it feel like home.
