Business Spotlight: Eddie's Automotive

Each week we feature a business from our hometown of Lilburn. This week, learn more about Eddie's Automotive.

After years of working on friends' and neighbor's cars and doing small repairs on the side while holding down a full time job, Eddie Prince opened Eddie's Automotive Service in February of 1988. For 18 years, the service shop was located off of Hwy. 29 and moved to its current location four years ago. Price offers the full gamut of services including regular maintenance, repairs and replacement of automotive parts. I recently sat down with Eddie to talk about his shop.

Patch: What is the best aspect of owning Eddie's Automotive Service Inc.?

Eddie: I enjoy what I do so it's not so much a job. I enjoy the people and being able to call my own shots. I get to make all of the decisions.

Patch: What is the most challenging aspect of owning your own service shop?

Eddie: The drawback is that I am always here. Being a small business owner it's tough to afford the staff to run the business while I'm gone so it puts me as the frontman on the lines. This is my baby and it's what I've worked hard for so it's hard to walk away from it for any length of time.

Patch: What makes Eddie's Automotive unique?

Eddie: Well I feel like we really go the extra mile. We have a really nice facility with a clean and well lit service area as well as clean restroom facilities. We try to set the standard for a quality that people expect. We carry good parts and we have quality, well trained technicians. We're also highly involved in the community. We sponsor the Christmas parade as well as do things with the schools and churches in the area.

Patch: What makes the Lilburn community special?

Eddie: Lilburn is a small town nestled next to a great big town. Although we have the conveniences of the big town we have a small town feel. I went out of the way to make sure that my home as well as this business was inside the city limits of Lilburn. I can go over to city hall to get whatever I need instead of spending all day in Lawrenceville. I really like that.

Eddie's Automotive Service Inc. is located at 5440 Webb Parkway in Lilburn and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. For more information visit their website at http://www.eddiesautomotiveservice.com/
