Highway 29 Findings Will Be Revealed at Open House

Public is welcomed to see what the Lilburn CID has in mind for the future of Lilburn's main drag.

There won't be a drumroll or curtains unfurled, but the potential future of Lawrenceville Highway  corridor will be the centerpiece of an open house Thursday night in Lilburn.

The public is encouraged to attend the Lilburn Community Improvement District's  public meeting at Providence Christian Academy that will review the final draft of its  six-month study aimed at revitalizing the aging four-mile stretch of highway.

The Highway 29 Boulevard of Opportunity study has been looking at alternatives in land use, transportation and urban design that may be used to transform the corridor into a mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly and upscale destination.

The Lilburn CID partially funded the $120,000 study with $100,000 in SPLOST money.

“This study will give the Lilburn CID and Greater Lilburn a playbook to help us navigate the creation of a Boulevard of Opportunity,” said Lilburn CID Executive Director Gerald McDowell.
