Lilburn October Home Sales Rise

A total of 60 houses were sold in Lilburn last month, an increase over September and a year earlier, statistics show.

Sales of homes in Lilburn rose last month, according to a report by realtor Lane Bailey.

In the Lilburn, GA Market Report published Monday, Bailey said 60 homes sold last month, compared with 44 in September and 38 in October 2010.

The number of houses on the market has also decreased, Bailey said. Although "Lilburn had been among the weakest of Gwinnett County, GA, cities I track" there is now an 8.4 month supply of properties on the market, compared with a 14.35 month supply in February of this year, Bailey said.

Of the 427 houses for sale, 306 are listed for less than $200,000, according to the report. There are 109 listed between $200,000 and $400,000. Only six are listed for more than $600,000.

Earlier this week, a key index of house prices in the U.S. showed that September prices in metro Atlanta, Phoenix and Las Vegas fell to their lowest since the housing crisis began, media reports said.
