Restaurant Grades: Know Then Go

A look at restaurant inspections conducted by the health department in Greater Lilburn.

Below are this week's results of recent Gwinnett County restaurant inspections in Greater Lilburn by the East Metro Health District, which covers Gwinnett, Rockdale and Newton counties. Each report includes a synopsis of some of the deficiencies found by the inspector.

Violations cited: Ceiling tiles at the food prep area needed replacing.

 

Great China, 440 Pleasant Hill Road

Violations cited: A bowl for portioning raw beef was inside a container of fresh mushrooms next to the raw beef in the prep cooler. The bowl had raw meat and blood in it. Some foods were uncovered in a cooler. A container for holding cooked chicken was dirty. Garlic in oil wasn't kept cold. An employee was seen cooking rice without a hair restraint. A used glove was kept for reuse on the prep table. Bowls and spoons with short handles were inside bulk food and sauce containers. Click here to see the full report and other violations.

Violations cited: Butter and sour cream weren't kept at proper cold temperature. Corrected on site. Repeat violation.

Violations cited: A bag of vegetables was thawing at room temperature instead of under running water or under refrigeration. Corrected on site. The latest inspection results weren't on display.
