Save the Date: Lilburn Farmers Market Is June 7

The annual market is back in downtown for its fourth season.

It's only three weeks away: The Lilburn Farmers Market will be back in town Friday, June 7.

Now in its fourth season, this year's market will bring some new vendors and old favorites that locals love to shop from. Returning are Wholly Pops, Java Genesis Coffee, Pappardelle's Pasta, Snellville Honey, those famous Georgia peaches and much more.

Some of the new vendors will carry goat and artisan cheese, kettlecorn, organic cotton candy, artisan breads, seafood, and BG Farms, which will have pork, grass-fed beef and free-range chicken, according to Mandy McManus, who's in charge of the event.

The market also will have activities that go beyond just the sampling and buying experience. Local chefs will host demos using items from the market's vendors, Life South will hold three blood drives throughout the season, and master gardeners will be on hand through the Gwinnett Cooperative Extension to answer questions.

Additionally, the Lilburn Woman's Club is providing children's activities at many of the markets.

The blood drive and a chef demo by Stacy Maple, along with the Little Free Lilburn lending library, will be featured on opening night.

The Lilburn Farmers Market will run every Friday through Aug. 30 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Greenway Trail parking lot, located at 76 Main Street across from the Lilburn City Park in the heart of downtown Lilburn.
