Tickets for 'Dark Knight Rises' on Sale Now, Some Showings Sold Out

The movie premieres Thursday at midnight, and some theaters are hosting Batman marathons beforehand.

Holy blockbuster, Batman!

When the "Dark Knight Rises" premieres Thursday at midnight, it's basically a guarantee that it will break ticket sale records.

The third and reported final installment of director Christopher Nolan's Batman series starring Christian Bale as the Caped Crusader is expected to rake in more than $150 million in its opening weekend alone.

In other words, if you are set on seeing the movie this weekend, you might want to go ahead and buy your tickets now. In fact, as of July 1, 100,000 tickets were already presold.

Can't wait till midnight Thursday? Some theater chains, including Regal Cinemas, AMC and Movie Tavern, are capitalizing on the hype with early evening Batman marathons that include "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight" and culminate with the "Dark Knight Rises" premiere.

As of Wednesday morning, the 12:01 a.m. Thurday showing for the "Dark Knight Rises" at in the Duluth-Johns Creek area was sold out, and one 12:01 a.m. Thursday showing at the Regal Hollywood 24 at Interstate 85 also was sold out. But, there were still a number of showings available for early morning moviegoers.

Also, of Wednesday morning, seats are available for eight showings around midnight at the and there are six available showings at the . Both locations also have marathon events.
