The CID will award $500 to the graphic designer who submits the winning logo.

The Lilburn Community Improvement District is looking for a new look, and it's offering $500 to the person who can come up with it.

It could be an image, a logo or icon that "depicts the priorities, resources and vision of the CID," the organization said in an email.

The graphic design should be flexible enough to be used for letterheads, brochures and other marketing material, but also for street signage and banners, the CID said.

The CID, an organization of Lilburn businesses that voluntarily tax themselves in order to fund area improvements, currently uses a logo developed by business owners when the CID was formed.

Lilburn Community Improvement District - Logo Design Competition

PURPOSE
The Lilburn Community Improvement District (CID) is seeking innovative designs in developing a new image/logo/icon that depicts the priorities, resources and vision of the CID.

LOGO
The current logo was developed by a group of businesses owners during the formation stages of the CID.

FORMAT/REQUIREMENTS
The purpose of the graphic design competition is to create a symbol, icon or image that will represent the goals and purpose of the CID. Flexibility is the key requirement in that the accepted design will not only be used on general correspondence (letter/marketing literature and other collateral material), but also on street banners (typical banner dimensions will be 3-4 ft x 6-7 ft with banners attached vertically to signal poles) and in “Internally Illuminated” LED (lighting emitting diode) street signage that will be attached and hung from street mast arms in the District. It is the latter use that had expedited the logo design competition.

The typical dimensions of a street sign will be approximately 18 inches high x 10 ft wide; therefore, the logo will have approximately an 8” x 18” area on the left side of the sign. The height of the street name character will be approximately 8 inches high.

Since the logo will be placed on a state-funded highway project, the logo must not include letters or numbers. Only an image, icon or symbol will be permitted. The length dimensions of the overall street signs located on the mast arm will vary based on the number of letters in the name of the street, but the dimensions of the image/icon/logo remain the same. The background color of the LED signs will be green. The logo will must look good in color as well as black and white.

For these three uses above, the logo will be in color. The final design must also be suitable for high-quality printing. The entries must be submitted as a scalable vector graphic in an EPS and JPG format.

PRIZE
The winning design will be awarded $500.
