A Day of "2"s in Our Close Knit Community

Two community filled events in preparation of Super Bowl.

In Lilburn where community is second nature, a church is eager to promote not one but two events for the community all on 2-2, the day before the Super Bowl. The setting is all at a church where community is important and "where everyone knows your name".  So much so, that with the state of our economy, one of the members felt called to begin a job networking day which started off with 4 people and has now grown to over 20 people per month.  This is not a job fair, Crayton Lankford, job network organizer, has stressed on many occasions but just an outlet for those hurt by the economy to know they are not alone.  They are able to enjoy breakfast, give their resume and share their skills as well as learn new skills.  Each month, a new guest from the community is invited to share hiring objectives, skills or methods.  This monthly event will be taking place on 2-2-2013 at Parkview Presbyterian Church located at 4875 Lilburn Stone Mountain Road.  For additional information about the job network please call Crayton Lankford at 678-534-1310.

The second event is part of a nationwide movement.  This nationwide movement organized by Dennis Rainey, founder of Family Life Ministries, has challenged Family Life City Teams as well as Christians throughout the US to see if they can get 1000 churches to organize the "Stepping Up" 1 Day event to take place at their local church on the same day (the day before the Super Bowl).  It is an event about courage and manhood and ideal for Fathers, Sons, Husbands, ALL MEN.   Parkview has agreed to this challenge and will be hosting the event from 9am- 5pm.  There is a nominal fee and scholarships are available.   The fee is to cover food and the workbooks for the event. If you would like to participate or would like to purchase a ticket towards a scholarship or make any donation, please visit the link at http://northatlantasteppingup.eventbrite.com/?ref=elink#.

For additional information about any of these events, please call Steven Betolatti at 678-666-5101.
