School Bus Accident Injures Eight - Midtown Patch

An accident between a taxi van and an Atlanta Public Schools bus sent eight Grady High students to the hospital Monday.

The accident occurred on Capitol Avenue close to the I-20 exit ramp.

Teens Rescue Drowning Florida Couple - Dallas-Hiram Patch

On April 11, two seniors from South Paulding High School, Tyler Feagan and Dillon Humphries, were enjoying Spring Break in Panama City Beach, FL., when they noticed a couple struggling to stay afloat. When Feagan and Humphries looked closer, they observed a man and woman adjacent to the Panama City Pier drowning. Little did they know, the struggling swimmers were caught in a rip current that was slowly pulling them out to sea. Humphries and Feagan immediately jumped into the water to help the drowning individuals.

'Moonshiners' Star to Visit Metro Area for West Texas Fundraiser - Douglasville Patch

The Discovery Channel’s “Moonshiners” television show star Tim Smith will be stopping Tuesday, April 23 at the Douglas County Fire/EMS Headquarters from 4-6 p.m. to raise funds for the West, Texas, Volunteer Fire Department that was destroyed in last week’s fertilizer plant blast. In private life, Smith is the Fire Chief of the Climax, VA., Fire and Rescue Department, a small volunteer fire department similar to that of West, Texas.

Dubbed “Operation West Texas”, Smith is traveling from Virginia to Texas, stopping along the way to accept donations, 100 percent of which will go to the West, Texas, Fire and EMS Fallen Hero Fund of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

Photo Double Sought for 'Endless Love' Filming at Upcoming Music Festival - East Atlanta Patch

A Monday post on the Facebook page of Tammy Smith Casting-Atlanta calls for a photo double for actress Gabriella Wilde in the movie "Endless Love", which is scheduled to film May 5 at the Shaky Knees Music Festival, from about noon to mid-afternoon.

The festival is taking place at Historic Fourth Ward Park and Masquerade Music Park.

Mother Was Studying When Daughter Killed by Pit Bulls - Fort Stewart Patch

An attorney for the mother of a Bryan County toddler killed by pit pulls last month says she was studying when her daughter was attacked, according to an Associated Press report.

Summer Laminack, 18, was charged with second-degree cruelty to children, according to the AP. She was arrested April 16 and later released on a $5,000 bond.
