A candlelight vigil is scheduled Tuesday night, Nov. 13, to support Parkwood Farms Therapy Center, the Snellville riding center that is facing eviction.
The event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at the facility, located at 2519 Parkwood Road.
The popular therapy center and Dr. Marilyn Peterson have issued a plea for support and a call to action to help save the riding center.
Dr. Peterson has decided to stay at the property and resist the eviction, and the community has responded with support.
Friends, Families, Occupy Our Homes Atlanta, the Snellville Mayor & City Council along with other community partners stood with Parkwood Farms on Monday in a rally at 11 a.m.
Supporters hope the rally of awareness will convince the bank that the Therapy Center should remain open to the children it serves.
The center provides therapy for special-needs children, including “autism, Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy, emotional-behavioral problems and learning disabilities,” according to its website.
