Five Things You Need To Know June 15

Here's your daily dose of what to know today.

Good morning, Lilburn. Here’s a digital check list for Wednesday, June 15.

1. Howl at the Moon (if you wish): June’s full moon is tonight — around 4:14 p.m., if you want to be exact — but the real event will occur across the Atlantic with an expected long lunar eclipse. Expect to see lots of video of the eclipse on TV and the Internet, just not with your naked eye.

2. More rain? Weather.com forecasts an increasing chance of rain and thunderstorms today, rising from 30 percent in the morning and afternoon to 50 percent tonight. High should be around 90 percent.

3. Need a stamp? The Button Gwinnett Stamp Club meets at Lilburn City Hall not to do a mass mailing, but to share its passion for rare stamps and other collectibles. A short club meeting is followed by an auction for stamps, philatelic collections and postcards. Meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. and is open to all.

4. The lowdown in downtown: The Lilburn Downtown Development Authority meets at 6:30 p.m.  to discuss what’s going on in Old Town. Update reports expected on DDA property, the Lilburn CID and public art planning.
