Landscaping in Full Bloom on Lawrenceville Highway

In 2011, the Lilburn CID spearheaded a project to add landscaping to the median and sidewalks along Highway 29. The flowers recently bloomed again this spring.

With it being the spring season, the flowers are popping up all over Lilburn, and Highway 29 is no stranger to it.

Filled with pinks, yellows and greens, the landscaping is in full bloom along the medians and sidewalks on Lawrenceville Highway, thanks to the Lilburn CID.

In spring 2011, the community improvement district decided to beautify the Highway 29 corridor from Ronald Reagan Parkway to Postal Way by planting flowers, grass, bushes and more.

"One of the key things that we wanted to change about the Highway 29 corridor is the perception of the area," said Lilburn CID Executive Director Gerald McDowell. "We felt like the landscaping would initiate the change in the perception as an area that is desirable for shopping and for entertainment."

Shortly after the landscaping was installed, the CID also implemented a monthly maintenance program where a crew maintains the area with caring for the plants, cutting the grass and removing trash.
