Lilburn City Clerk Retires After Two Decades

Friday, July 5, was Kathy Maner's last day with the city.

City Clerk Kathy Maner is retiring from Lilburn after 20 years of service. Her last day was Friday, July 5.

According to Lilburn's monthly newsletter, Maner was first a receptionist at city hall where she dealt with taxes, sanitation billing and more.

She became the city clerk in 2000 and still covers a number of duties: She coordinates Freedom of Information Act responses by the city, maintains official records and files, processes alcoholic beverage license applications and renewals, receives volunteer applications for various positions on boards and commissions, serves as the clerk to the city council, and serves as the local election official.

“Kathy has provided an invaluable service to the city residents, business owners, and visitors over the past 20 years," Lilburn City Manager Bill Johnsa said.

The newsletter says Maner looks forward to traveling and spending time with her grandchildren when she clocks out.

Deputy Clerk Melissa Penate will serve as acting city clerk after Friday.

The above information came from the City of Lilburn E-Newsletter for July 2013.
